Let's bring care home.

This year, you can help bring northern Saskatchewan's first MRI to the Victoria Hospital and equip the people who care for our families.

Join us live December 4 at Lake Country Co-op Food Store in Prince Albert, and listen all day on Prince Albert’s Pattison Media stations.

This year's focus:
The North's first MRI

Today there is no MRI anywhere in northern Saskatchewan.

When a doctor at the Vic needs an MRI to see what's happening in a patient's brain, spine or joints, that patient travels to Saskatoon, Regina or out of province. Sometimes more than once. Often someone takes a day off work to drive them.

When the MRI opens at Victoria Hospital, about 2,000 people a year will get that scan here, close to the people they love.

More than a machine

An MRI is a magnet so powerful that ordinary hospital equipment can't go near it. The stretcher, the wheelchair, the IV pole and the monitors that watch a patient's heart and breathing all have to be built specially to be MRI safe.

Your gift helps equip the whole service around the scanner, so the team can care for patients safely from the day it switches on.

Twenty years of care close to home

Give a Little Life Day began with one simple idea: our families deserve better.

For twenty years, you've helped deliver better care close to home. You've given more than $10 million and put hundreds of pieces of equipment into the hands of local care teams. That includes incubators that keep fragile newborns warm, lifts that move patients safely and with dignity, and sleeper sofas that let parents stay through the night next to their child.
